It's a lot more portable, and since it's less of an investment I worry less about doing it an injury taking it out and about (reading in the hammock, for example.) It's not much good for web-surfing, email, etc. though.chris1906https://www.blogger.com/profile/13995166685033548961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3632878082669459487.post-13830875715054447152010-11-17T16:14:49.064-05:002010-11-17T16:14:49.064-05:00I like my Kindle! :) It's the only one I can ...I like my Kindle! :) It's the only one I can personally speak for, although I've played with an iPad for about an hour. I just like the fact that the Kindle isn't backlit and that I don't seem to get eyestrain with it.Elizabeth Spann Craighttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15625595247828274405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3632878082669459487.post-70763865670302794892010-11-17T14:27:34.542-05:002010-11-17T14:27:34.542-05:00I got a Kindle eight days ago, and I am quite sati...I got a Kindle eight days ago, and I am quite satisfied with it though I am really a paperbook person. One reason for buying it was to get free review books (yes, you can read PDF on a computer screen, but it is definitely not fun!) Besides I don´t have to pay for shipping or Danish VAT - I save quite a lot that way.

I checked beforehand that I can convert Danish ebooks to Kindle versions. And the other day when I was reading a huge paperback (450 pages) in bed, I wished it were a Kindle book!

So now I just hope the shops will drop their ridiculous geographical restrictions, enabling me to buy British books directly from Waterstones e.g.Dorte Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14535044092722418173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3632878082669459487.post-17699820166623077592010-11-17T13:16:21.740-05:002010-11-17T13:16:21.740-05:00I'm balancing precariously on the fence when i...I'm balancing precariously on the fence when it comes to ereaders. On the one hand, I like the idea of being able to carry around 500 books with ease and poise. On the other hand, dropping a book may result in a bruised foot, while dropping an ereader may result in bruises of a different sort.Elspeth Futcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10330102545384369360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3632878082669459487.post-90173712427325346082010-11-17T10:04:58.360-05:002010-11-17T10:04:58.360-05:00Hi, Alan-since I've gone into this in my own b...Hi, Alan-since I've gone into this in my own blog post today, I'll let you pop over to Terry's Place for my answers. :-)

Terry
Terry's Place
Romance with a Twist--of MysteryTerry Odellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11610682530545306687noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3632878082669459487.post-66744648093482906932010-11-17T07:34:07.780-05:002010-11-17T07:34:07.780-05:00I've been pondering the same thing. I gather you have to send the Kindle back and have them do it. Plus, you can upgrade the Nook easier...from what I've been told.

Still, I'm eager to hear what others have to say on the subject, too.Annettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02755947919433555176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3632878082669459487.post-65676887136293503402010-11-17T07:15:49.087-05:002010-11-17T07:15:49.087-05:00Alan - I can certainly see why you want an E-reade...Alan - I can certainly see why you want an E-reader! They can be wonderful, and people I know who have them - love them. I don't have one, so I can't speak from experience. But people I know who have the Kindle love it because there are so many books out there that are compatible with it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
