What’s White, White, and White All Over?

We interrupt your regularly-scheduled blog post with a recap of the Blizzard of 2010 (aka the Snowpocalypse, aka the Super Storm, aka Snowmeggedon, aka SnowFail, aka snOMG (thanks Carla Coupe!), aka Too Damn Much Snow, aka @#*&#^@!).

Official front yard accumulation: 27 inches

Tree damage: One small holly tree, trunk snapped

Power outage: Minimal, 2 hours during the middle of the night

Personal injury: Can’t raise arms above shoulders (I’ll get over it.)

Family members’ throats strangled: Zero (so far)

Here are some pics:

That is AMAZING! I will show my kids when they wake up, and they will be jealous! I, however, am decidely NOT jealous.

Too much! It's too much snow!!

We got ice last weekend and I was SO glad when it finally melted. What a mess. Glad you still have power and all...

Good luck getting rid of that stuff!

Beautiful photos. Sounds like you've been lucky no more damage than you had and the power only off a couple of hours.

Yeah, I'd say that was way TOO MUCH snow. Would it be mean to say I'm glad you have it and not me? Sorry, :)

To think that I've always dreamed of being in a winter wonderland. This, however, is just too much and needless to say, is too overwhelming.

Wow. You have the snow we're praying to arrive for one of our city mountains.

Wow, Alan!! Those photos really are beautiful, and I have to say, I very, very, very much miss snow. But the shoveling? Not so much. I hope everyone stays safe and warm...

I've got you beat by a couple of inches - we had 30 at my house. And my arms feel like I shoveled every inch of it. Oh wait - I did!

As your photos show, it is beautiful, though, once you get past the disruption it's causing.

And now they're calling for another foot of snow tomorrow? Where will we put it???

Michele - All the young kids around here have to tie helium balloons to their hoods, just in case they wander into a snowdrift.

Elizabeth - WAY too much snow. That's okay, they're calling for 3-8 more inches tomorrow. Yippee!

Mason - Very mean.

Dragon - I think the dreams turned into nightmares about 15 inches ago.

Elspeth - You wacky Canadians, eh? Isn't that like me praying for more hot-air-spewing politicians and lobbyists to come to my town?

Margot - Shoveling is not fun. We broke a shovel today. Down to one good shovel, and two really bad ones.

Ingrid - Okay. You win :) Where will we put it indeed? I think I'm going to open up a snowtubing run in my backyard.

Well, it IS pretty, that's for sure. Just be sure to toss out all Shinning tapes, discs, and HBO versions.

Best Wishes Galen.

Thanks for the reminder of why I'm

Galen - It's pretty something, all right, but I won't expound. And funny thing, I tried to rent The Shining a couple weeks ago, but it was out. Hmmm.

Jane - My bags are packed and I can be there in 20 hours. What's your address? It's not a problem if my wife and two kids tag along, is it?

Ahhh, gives me fond memories of the blizzards we had every year in Idaho where I grew up. I knew there was a reason I moved to Australia.
