Odds and Pieces (Bits and Ends?)

I finished the first draft of my WIP last week, but I’m going to let it percolate for a while before starting to revise it. I hope the saying, “It’s never as good as you think it is or as bad as you fear it is” holds true--at least the latter part.

I got my bookmarks yesterday and was very pleased how the job came out. Kudos to Printplace.com. The quality was great, the price was good, the turnaround time was fast, and they were easy to work with. What’s not to like?

We’re having a garage sale in a week and a half. Don’t worry, I won’t be getting rid of my Mr. Peanut items. If you happen to know someone who needs some size 4 soccer cleats (new) or a 20-year-old unopened Pente board game, send him/her my way!

I wish there would be a Talk Like A Pirate Day every month. Arrghh!

DIAMONDS FOR THE DEAD can be pre-ordered on-line at many venues. Even here. Wherever that is. (I think the answer to the question, “Is deze titel in de winkel?” is “not yet, in April.”)

"Odds and Pieces (Bits and Ends?) - what about Bits and Pieces? LOL!

I'm happy to hear your bookmarks turned out so well! I'm going to have to check out that site. Thanks for providing the link! I've used Vistaprint for my business cards and other promotional material, but who knows, they may offer more products, better pricing...hey, it's worth a shot and with such glowing recommendation...

Good luck with the garage sale. Oh the dreaded garage sale - love to GO to them, but having them...aren't they just so much FUN???

I drip with envy from your news of the finished first draft. Well, well, done! I do not drip with envy at the thought of having a garage sale. I donate my stuff to the thrift store.

Good news about the bookmarks. Full speed ahead!

Print Place, hm? Thanks for the tip. I haven't gotten around to ordering them for the new release yet.

Percolating is such a great idea, Alan. I’ve looked at things after percolation and could see things that I never saw during the writing. I don’t know what force is at work to allow that to happen, but it sure does. I love percolation.

Crystal - I've used VistaPrint for business cards, and they were good. They don't do bookmarks so I had to look elsewhere.

Elspeth - Yeah, we usually donate stuff rather than go thru the garage sale hassle. But the charities that pick up only take certain stuff, and we've got a lot of junk, er collectibles, to get rid of.

Elizabeth - Print Place. I checked a few places and they were the cheapest. And, as I said, I'm quite pleased with the quality.

Galen - Percolating sounds much better than stewing or festering.

Congrats on getting your WIP draft done! I do the same thing, as a matter of fact, when I'm done a draft. I let it wait and then come back to it. I find I get new ideas when I do that, and the work is just better.

The bookmarks sound terrific, and I wish you well getting your new book out there!

For me, finishing the first draft is the biggest moment of all when writing a book. I hope you feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment. Congratulations!
